Sovereign Asset Steward Organizations
Running the Physical Infrastructure for a Regenerative Economy
SASTOs are independent stewardship organizations that operate real-world assets held in trust by the Quality of Life World Foundation. They keep places alive: maintaining them, opening them for use, and ensuring the value they generate flows back into a regenerative economy that benefits everyone involved.

What Is a SASTO?
A Sovereign Asset Steward Organization (SASTO) is a legally registered entity created to steward one or more sovereign assets on behalf of the Foundation.
While the Foundation holds assets in trust, a SASTO takes care of the day-to-day reality of keeping them usable and compliant, including:
Operating and maintaining the asset
Handling legal and regulatory obligations
Managing access and rental agreements
Collecting rent transparently
Returning value into the regenerative system
Each SASTO is accountable for the assets it stewards and operates with its own legal identity, ensuring clear responsibility and market-conform use.

Why SASTOs Exist
SASTOs provide a clear operational layer between asset ownership and asset usage.
Transparency & Accountability
Each asset is stewarded by a dedicated organization with explicit obligations, revenue flows, and accountability.
Efficacy and Fair Access
Collaboratives can rent sovereign assets using people centric agreements based on commitment and responsibility towards the community
Long-Term Viability
Assets are maintained at market conditions while contributing to a regenerative revolving fund instead of being depleted or privatized.
How Sovereign Assets Work
Sovereign assets are real physical assets placed in service of long-term public benefit.

Buildings and workspaces

Regenerative renovation sites

Equipment and tools

Renewable energy systems

Community infrastructure
Sovereign asset's purpose
These assets are not speculative instruments. They are meant to be used and generate recurring value while remaining aligned with a public purpose.
The Stewardship Cycle
A simple four-step model describes how sovereign assets operate within the ecosystem
01
Acquisition
The Foundation acquires an asset to place it productive, public-purpose use.
02
Stewardship Assignment
A SASTO is created or delegated to operate and maintain the asset.
03
Productive Use
Collaboratives rent the asset at fair market rates to run real-world projects.
04
Regenerative Return Flow
Rental income is managed transparently by the SASTO.
How much returns to the Foundation’s revolving fund depends on how the asset was financed:
Foundation-funded assets
After covering operational costs (ex. taxes, insurance, essential maintenance), rental income returns to the fund, fueling new impact projects.
Externally financed assets
After covering operational costs, rental income initially prioritizes repayment of external financing. Once repaid, the asset fully contributes to the regenerative system.
This ensures every asset eventually strengthens the commons , regardless of its origin.
Renting a Sovereign Asset
Renting sovereign assets is designed to be straightforward and fair.
Who can rent?
Anyone running a real-world project aligned with the Foundation’s mission, operating as a collaborative.
What’s required?
A short application
A clear operational plan
A market-conform rental agreement
Pricing
Pricing is determined through a Dutch auction mechanism and published transparently on each asset page.
